Lovely shop; conveniently located which means turbo busy & staff remains pleasant & helpful. Love the prepped foods, particularly the pesto bow-tie pasta. Got a bad Califia cafe latte one time, brought it back & guy at register authorized quick replacement. Unbelievable variety here with all the essentials!

Appletree. One of the quintessential 24/7 NY delis. Need a slightly overpriced Tylenol at 11pm? They’ve got it. Your turn to buy TP for the apartment, but you realized this at 3am on a Wednesday night? Appletree has all the TP variety you could dream of (Charmin Ultra? Scott? Yes, please!) If you’re studying til late at Columbia or working til late anywhere around 120th and Amsterdam, you’ll get hungry at some point. And you’ll find most places with food in the area are closed. You won’t get 5-star food at Appletree, but ask yourself this: would you rather eat Cheetos from a Columbia vending machine for dinner, or a Tex-Mex sandwich complete with avocados, turkey, and pepperjack cheese? If you answered the latter, just go on down to Appletree and head over to the deli in the back. If you prefer Cheetos for dinner, you can still get that here, and you can even add a Vitamin Water to freshen you up for those late nights. The cashiers are friendly, the deli person sometimes can’t hear what you're saying, but you will get what you need. (And yes, they do sell quality apples at Appletree. Their red delicious never disappoint.)

I bought a bunch of grapes in Apple Tree yesterday, I put them on their public scales (just next to the grapes' shelf), it showed 0.8lbs. However, at the cashier's, it showed 1.22lbs, I even double checked with the cashier, he said, the public scale is not accurate, everybody moves it. When I got home, I weighed the grapes on my own scale, it was indeed 0.8lbs. Apple tree charged me 50% more !
